I took my 8th graders to Washington D.C. last week. The weather was perfect, and so were the conditions to get some great photos. Here are just a few samples, along with Jefferson in the above post.
The bottom two photos are of the original Washington Monument. This tribute to George by noted sculptor Horatio Greenough around 1832 was deemed too risque. Apparently nipples weren't all they were cracked up to be.
